Our Teachers

Ms. Lia (Frog Teacher)
Ms. Lia has been a high school Spanish teacher for three years.  This is her third year of teaching at Presbyterian Preschool.  She has a Bachelors in Secondary Education with an endorsement in Spanish and Portuguese (she is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese!), and a Master's degree in Social Policy.  She has traveled extensively in the U.S. and abroad and has lived in Brazil and the Netherlands.  Her passion is teaching, traveling, and learning about the world.



Ms. Susan (Polliwog/Tadpole Teacher)

This is her second year teaching at Presbyterian Preschool.  Susan grew up in Southern California and moved to Carbondale with her family in 2006. She studied at SIU Carbondale and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. Susan has worked in an after school setting, as well as a teacher's aide for special needs students. Susan has been a substitute teacher in many of the surrounding schools for all grade levels. She engages in art such as; painting and multimedia art. Susan loves teaching children, walking in nature and listening to music.


Ms. Jennifer (Polliwog/Tadpole Teacher)

Ms. Jennifer is a native of Carbondale and alumni of Presbyterian Preschool.  This is her first year teaching at Presbyterian Preschool.  She is a two-time graduate from Southern Illinois University Carbondale having received a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology.  She has two children, one who attends Presbyterian Preschool.  Previously, she has worked as a school counselor for varying grade levels including counseling Pre-Kindergarten children. Mrs. Presley enjoys spending time on the lake, snowskiing, and traveling when time allows. 


Ms. Jessica (Teacher's Aide)

Jessica was born in England and raised in New Zealand.  All three of her children went through Presbyterian Preschool and she is very happy to be working here.  This is her first teaching at Presbyterian Preschool.  She has taught the Frog class each year about New Zealand and how to do the Haka!  Before having children she was in a professional touring vocal quartet for seven years.  She has a Bachelors in English and graduate course work in creative writing.  She loves running, gardening, singing and songwriting.


Ms. Kimberly (Director and Frog Teacher)
Ms. Kimberly has worked in diverse educational settings for many years.  She is the director of Presbyterian Preschool and this is her fifth year teaching.  She earned her Bachelor's degree in Spanish Language & Literature with a Minor in Psychology at SIUC.  She has a six-year-old son, Jace, and newborn son, Oliver.  Ms. Kimberly enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with her family.
